BREAKING NEWS FROM THE JIWANG KINGDOM
Hey Everyone,
There is a change of wind for the romantics after a
long spell of suspension and we are ever so grateful to God for all of his
insights and this new direction. So, we're back in the loop, changing for the
better, and growing into the future:
DOUBLE TAKE "OFF HAND" - With Mia back in university in Tasmania and Roger in
Kota Kinabalu recording more albums, we had a tough time locking down a date for
them. But, we've got the best music in town this 21, 22 and 23 December 2010,
and what's more, it will be "OFF HAND" - no rehearsals and no pressure, just
taking it from their last sold out performance at The Dewan Philharmonic. First
come, first serve; book your tickets NOW!
INITIATIVE FOR THE HOMELESS - We've been taking it slow and steady with www.jensbirthdaywall.blogspot.com
which is up and running. So far as promised we've sent Strawberry Pavlovas,
Lemon Meringues Pies, Chocolate Brownies and Red velvet Cupcakes out to various
kitchens dedicated to feeding the homeless. As Mother Theresa said: "You can do
what I cannot do, I can do what you cannot do. Together we can do great
things."
"JEN'S KITCHEN SPIRIT" - I'm not sure how, but my first recipe book will
be launched on 30 January 2011 at Borders. No frills, no thrills, just me and my
girls putting together a DIY kitchen handbook with guaranteed delicious, tried
and tested recipes. The book will feature my food stories and copy, a pastel
painting of my actual kitchen by Mia as the front cover, design and layout by
Vanessa and food photography by Natasha. Call Natasha if you would like to come,
I am shamelessly tempting you with food prepared by yours truly for the
launch.
UNDERGROUND SUPPER CLUB - We are launching this today, 29 June 2010. As the
name underground implies, all communication is restricted to word of mouth. Call
to come for supper!
LITTLE HOMEGROWN CHEFS SERIES -
If you have little kids and it
delights you to see them grow, log on to www.jenshomekitchen.blogspot.com
and click on cooking class to read about our classes, apprenticeship and "Jen's
Little Homegrown Chefs" cookbook in the making.
WEEKEND TAKEAWAYS - Because our WORLD CUP takeaways have turned out to
be successful, we have decided to continue with our "Premium
Hot Dogs" and "Homemade Burgers" weekend takeaways. So, if you're too tired to
cook but prefer a homecooked meal instead, remember that we roll out our grill
every weekend!
NASI KUNING KOMPLIT - Rice cooked in coconut milk and spices served with
Ayam or Ikan Goreng, Crispy Fried Brinjal, and Sambal Udang Kering available
only once a month from Jen's HomeKitchen. Place your takeaway order for 16 July
now.
KIDS COOKING CLASS AT MPH - I will be giving a FREE cooking class for kids at
MPH on 19 September 2010. I will be inviting a few of my little homegrown chefs
to assist me so it's going to be fun. Please register your kids with Natasha so
we can ensure that your child has a place.
MASTER CHEFS AT HOME - Organized every last Saturday of the month for
passionate amateurs like myself. Come and learn extraordinary recipes in the
style of full menus.
RECIPE BOOK COLLABORATION - We have the book, the launch and a 4 month road
show planned. If you are looking for a strategic partner and a 6 month ongoing
event to tie in with, well we'll be most happy to hear from you.
Finally I wish to thank those of you who have been
kind enough to spread our many newsletters out to your friends. Orders have been
so encouraging and our classes were - and continues to be - a hit. Special
thanks to Malaysian Insider and Going Places - Malaysian Airlines Inflight
Magazine - for believing in us romantics. For all who have remained loyal on our
database, you will be happy to know that our Mia is a frontline member of The
Southern Gospel Choir in Hobart and that she was recently privileged to
take part in "The festival of Broadway".

Comte de Mirabeau said
"None but men of strong passions are capable of rising to greatness."
Brabons Entertainment is a family oriented business that thrives on
working with capable individuals who engage in work that taps into their talent
and fuels their passion. Brabons Entertainment operates along the
parameters of the theory that governs growth and prosperity to both their
internal and external people. Human capital is our most important asset.
It all began 10 years ago on an island in North Borneo (now, the state of
Sabah) when there was a demand in the market for talent providers. Brabons
Entertainment started with the intent to supply talented individuals
such as dancers, singers and musicians to corporate companies and hotels for
their annual functions, gala events, special occasions, product launchings and
development projects. This gradually led Brabons Entertainment to
incorporate other services like introducing narrators for documentaries,
musical compositions and musical scores for film productions, models for
company brochures and the supply of sound engineers, sound reinforcement
systems and music instruments.
The great Helen Keller once said
"The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision."
Brabons Entertainment's purpose and vision began evolving and maturing
when through a defining moment, a member of the family, Mia Palencia, decided
that she wanted to work on her dream that was to sing and write music. To
support her in this endeavour and give courage on which to build her talents
and help her live it out consistently, Brabons Entertainment explored
this prospect and expanded further into the area of artiste management.
Brabons Entertainment believes in the philosophy
"You become successful by helping others become successful."
Amongst Brabons Entertainment's proudest achievements since then has
been to discover and place together two astounding musicians, Mia Palencia and
Roger Wang. Collaborating with them as a team for the past eight years has been
tremendously rewarding and it has blossomed into yet another life-giving
project. Sabah's home-grown jazz duo Double Take today is known as Malaysia's
most promising, popular and inspiring duo. Mia Palencia on the other hand has
grown into a songwriter and musician.
A crucible of thought into reality, moving from an island to the capital city, Brabons
Entertainment to date has extended her services geographically,
undertaken some crazy but brave challenges and has built with her a team of
great achievers that are first teachable, competent, respectful, reliable,
disciplined, creative and talented. It is upon their contribution of
perseverance and commitment to success that Brabons Entertainment's foundations
are built.
Brabons Entertainment has encountered many stepping stones but continues
to believe that the path to greatness unleashes and realizes human potential
and follows a process of sequential growth from the inside out. We work to
build on sources of inspiration and look forward to inspire more individuals to
find their true creative force. Brabons Entertainment institutionalizes
the capacity to fill these needs of society through her organization.
Aristotle said
"Where talents and the needs of the world cross,
therein lies your vocation."
Brabons Entertainment today are artiste managers and event producers.
